We might kiss when we are alone
when nobody's watching
I might take you home
We might make out
when nobody's there
It's not that we're scared
it's just that it's... delicate

It's amazing to me how you can go through elementary, middle, and high school and learn all that we do without learning to really live. There's no way to teach that. I don't care how good a grasp on Microsoft Excel you have or how well you can balance your checkbook (why learn to do that anyway? Online banking, helloooo), I don't care that you were the President of the Honor Society for two years running. I don't care that you were the Valedictorian. I don't care if you had perfect attendance.

What about real life do any of those things teach you?

Did they teach you to talk calmly and rationally to someone who, on the other end of the phone, is holding a gun to their own face? Did you learn how to cope with excruciating emotional pain?

Don't hold yourself like that... you'll hurt your knees...

Nope. Truth is, we have to teach ourselves these skills.

And some of us are simply better teachers than others.
