My feet didn't used to touch the ground...2

I've always been just like every other kid my age. When i was younger i dressed up my Barbies, played tag with my friends and made forts with my brother. I had parties and invited only my stuffed animals, which i had all named. My girlfriends and i played M.A.S.H. at sleepovers, we also drew what we thought were amzing pictures with chalk on our driveways. During the summer my best friend and i would dive into the pool, then immediatly get out and jump on the trampoline until it was to hot to jump anymore, then we would do it all over again. I did things that anyone and practically everyone did when they were my age. But as much fun as i was having, i wanted to grow up. Who needed that kid stuff anyway? I couldn't wait to go to college and start my life. I demanded respect at age 6, maybe sooner, but who can remember that far back? As time went by, i realized that with respect came responsibility (whose parents didn't tell them that?) and ever since that fact came into contact with my brian, i wished adulthood was something you could choose, not automatically receive. I know that there are many adventures i will encounter as i continue through life, but non of them will include living without a care in the world. Right now i would give anything to be able to wake up in the morning, watch cartoons and wonder if i will build a fort with my brother stacking cushins from the couch or build a city out of blocks. If you ask me, even know that is a tough decision. I hate that since i've become an adult, i have a hard time pretending and imagining. I also hate that adults aren't exactly allowed to spend time coloring in books and playing with legos. It's as if once a person reaches 18, they have to leave behind all childish things and i personally think it should be the opposite. The majority of adults are too serious and uptight. Everyone just needs to take a berak and remember what life used to be like.

I miss being little... remember back...

***Go back to the time when...

Decisions were made by going "eeny-meeny-miney-moe"

Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming, "do over!"

"Race issue" meant arguing about who ran the fastest.

Money issues were handled by whoever was the banker in "monopoly"

It wasn't odd to have two or three "best" friends.

Being old, referred to anyone over 20.

The chance to skate as a couple at the local roller rink was like winning the lottery....

The worst thing you could catch from the opposite sex was cooties.

Nobody was prettier than Mom

Nobody was cooler than Dad

Scrapes and bruises were kissed and made better

It was a big deal to finally be tall enough to ride the "big people" rides at the fair...

When playing nintendo was the hardest thing ever.

When you always wanted to be the pink power ranger if you were a girl. and the blue or red one if you were a guy

If you can remember most or all of these,
then you have LIVED IN THE 90's!!!
