So I'll check the weather, wherever you are...

'Cause I... want to know if you can see the stars tonight. It might be my only right.'

At the risk of sounding ridiculously sappy, et cetera, I can absolutely see myself doing just that. And meaning it. Looking up into the sky, and hoping, wishing, praying that she's looking up with me, wherever she is... Just that in that moment, that everything would become perfect for even just an instant. When all is well, no matter what else has happened. Just that, as I look up longingly at the sky and thinking of her, she thinks of me in that same moment...

Those memories flood back to me. The ones of when we'd stay up counting the stars together, pointing to "our star" and giggling as we tried to show each other which one it was... And as the night would grow colder, my embrace would grow tighter, and I'd keep her warm, if only for a night. (Even if I did occasionally startle her with my cold hands...)

The starlight, silly as it seems, contains something magical about it. Something that says it'll be alright. The way that one star- "our star" twinkles, just as we both look up, and catch a glimpse of it- magical.

*I gaze up at that wonderful expanse, and find "our star"... And it twinkles so.
